Welcome to Apple Class

In Apple class we follow a curriculum which is designed specifically for learners with Complex Needs and is based upon nurturing and individualised teaching approaches and relationships. Each term our learning will have a topic focus and these topics are on a rolling programme in order to provide our learners with a wide range of various experiences to engage with. Our curriculum has four main areas:

  • Communication, Cognition and Learning
  • Environmental Control Technology
  • Physical
  • Personal, Social, Emotional, Well-being and Independence

Our curriculum aims are to prepare our learners to fulfil their potential, be happy, to be comfortable and confident and to be ready for their future. It aims for our learners to communicate and have a voice, encourage independence, experience fresh air, physical exercise and to experience a holistic, nurturing, and person-centred, engaging sensory curriculum. Apple class is part of the Complex Needs phase at Brooke School and currently ranges from Year 8 to 13.
