Assessment

At Brooke school, we prioritise a personalised and inclusive approach to assessment, ensuring that every learner’s unique journey is recognised and supported. Through individualised evaluations, we identify strengths, address needs, and set meaningful targets that empower children to achieve their full potential.

Our assessment process is continuous, using a variety of methods such as observations, work samples, and active classroom engagement to monitor progress in real time. We incorporate specialised tools like ALDs, symbols, and visual aids, making assessments accessible and inclusive for all.

Collaboration is key to our success. We work closely with parents, carers, and specialists, sharing progress and developing tailored strategies to support each child’s growth. The insights gained from assessments guide our teaching and curriculum planning, ensuring that every child receives a personalised and effective learning experience.

By embedding assessment into everyday learning, we create an environment where every child is supported, celebrated, and prepared for lifelong success.

At the end of each term, we assess each learner’s progress against their personal learning goals and their targets in reading, writing, and maths. This progress is communicated to parents through a detailed termly report, parent-teacher meetings, and an annual review held once a year.
