The Early Years at Brooke School consists of three classrooms and a large outdoor space to enable our learners to thrive. We encourage learning through play as an introduction to life at Brooke School and we provide a variety of multisensory experiences through child initiated and adult directed learning opportunities. We follow a child-led approach facilitating our learners natural curiosity, making each learners journey unique and personalised. We provide the foundations learners will need to enable them to embark on a successful learning journey, teaching them the skills they will need to be ready to learn with a strong focus on communication and independence, fostering positive relationships with peers and adults. We are also part of the wider school community making use of on-site facilities such as the swimming pool, forest school, regulation room, the school hall and we are part of the School Council. We look forward to welcoming you to the Brooke family and are excited for you to begin your learning journey with us in becoming lifelong, independent learners.
Exciting moments from Early Years will appear in this space, including any pictures or videos we take. Please keep checking in, in order to see what the learners have been up to!
Welcome to Early Years
Our topic has been 'Growth/Growing'. We have enjoyed exploring the texts 'Titch', 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and 'Jasper's Beanstalk' through engaging with the books and sensory activities. The children have enjoyed their music lessons, focusing on making loud and quiet sounds with a range of instruments. In Maths, we have been learning about number recognition and developing our counting skills. We also love our weekly PE sessions in the hall with Lottie! |
